Stars of the Heavens

I found in God's volume a promise divine

Representative Text

1 I found in God’s volume a promise divine,
Which, had I loved Jesus, I might have called mine;
Just as the bright stars show in heaven so fair,
Shall they that be wise shine, was what I found there.

Refrain:
As beautiful stars of the heavens,
With brightness of glory divine,
They that bring many to Jesus,
Forever and ever shall shine,
As beautiful stars of the heavens,
With brightness of glory divine,
They that bring many to Jesus,
Forever and ever shall shine.

2 I did not love Jesus, he was not my Lord,
I longed for the promise I found in his word;
With sins unforgiven, Heav’n could not be mine,
Then how could I ever as stars hope to shine. [Refrain]

3 I called on my Savior to pardon my sin,
He entered my life then, and since reigns within;
I’ll taste of the wisdom that comes from above,
Win others to Jesus for pardon and love. [Refrain]

4 Oh, some day in heaven I also shall wear
A crown of rejoicing, Christ’s kingdom shall share;
As bright as the stars are, forever and aye,
I’ll shine with a glory that fades not away. [Refrain]
