Representative Text

1 I am only on a journey,
In this weary, troubled land,
And my home is over yonder
On the bright and shining strand;
Many times I feel discouraged
And my hopes are almost gone,
But with Jesus close beside me,
I am bound to travel on.

Refrain:
I am bound to travel Up the gospel road,
He will walk beside me, and will share my load;
Reach the land of glory By the shining throne,
To the Savior clinging, with the joy-bells ringing,
I am bound to travel on.

2 I will never leave this highway,
matters not how rough it seems,
For I know the Lord is leading
To the land of treasured dreams;
I can feel His arms about me,
Then I know I'm not alone,
Trusting Him, with sweet assurance,
I am bound to travel on. [Refrain]

3 Ev'ry sunset brings me nearer
My eternal resting place,
I shall soon join in the singing
with the millions saved by grace;
What a hallelujah morning
When I meet the friends I've known,
Till I stand in that glad circle,
I am bound to travel on. [Refrain]
