Rocking On the Waves

Representative Text

1 I am on the restless sea of life,
Where no calmness comes to still the tide;
For 'tis full of deadly sin and strife,
Rest and peace are on the other side.

Refrain:
I am rocking, rocking, rocking on the waves,
I am rocking on the waves,
rocking, rocking,
On the ocean waves;
I am rocking, rocking, rocking on the waves,
I am rocking on the waves,
rocking, rocking,
On the ocean waves.

2 Soon my ship will anchor over there,
By the help of Christ the crucified;
He is helping with His unseen hand
In His arms I'm rocking with the tide. [Refrain]

3 What a glorious tho't to feel this way,
When the raging tempest rolls so high;
knowing He will hear me when I pray, -
Sweetly save me in the by and by. [Refrain]
