Translator (from Dutch): Henry Beets
Henry Beets was born on January 5, 1869, in Koedyk (near Alkmaar), Holland. He emigrated to America in 1886, and settled in Kansas. He graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1895, and was ordained a minister in the Christian Reformed Church. He served as pastor of the Christian Reformed churches in Sioux Center, Iowa, and in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 1920 he became secretary and director of missions for the Christian Reformed Church and also edited the weekly publication the Banner and De Heidenwereld, a monthly missionary publication. He died on October 29, 1947 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
