Representative Text

1 Hear the voice of Jesus say:
“I will give you rest;
Weary, heavy laden,
In me you shall be blest;
Take my yoke upon you,
And no longer roam;
Whosoever, Whosoever will, may freely come.”

Refrain:
‘Tis the Saviour calling, calling thee;
Blessed invitaion, O how full and free!
Whosoever, Whosoever will, may freely come.

2 With a righteous Pharisee,
Jesus sat at meat;
Mary Magdalene
Knelt weeping at his feet;
He would not reject her,
Tho’ outcast, forlorn,
“Whosoever, Whosoever will, may freely come.” [Refrain]

3 Come then to the Gospel-feast,
Lame, and halt, and blind;
He who seeks the Saviour,
The Saviour he shall find;
Tho’ thy tongue may falter
And thy lips be dumb,
“Whosoever, Whosoever will, may freely come.” [Refrain]

4 Whosoever will, may come;
Hear the Saviour say:
“Whosoever cometh, I will not cast away;”
While the door is open
To the heav’nly home,
“Whosoever, Whosoever will, may freely come.” [Refrain]
