Representative Text

1 Hear the trumpet sounding; Forward, march!
Swing into battle line;
Onward soldiers of the “King of kings,”
Led by a hand divine;
To the conflict go, be not dismayed,
The Cross our conq’ring sign;
Victory, victory
Our King rides forth today.

Refrain:
The King rides forth! the tidings speed;
For loyal hearts there’s urgent need;
Rally to His standard He will lead to victory!
The battle will be fierce and long,
Yet right shall overcome the wrong,
A little while, the victor’s song,
And shouts of jubilee!

2 Hark! the roll is calling; quickly say,
“Her, Lord, am I, use me;
For Thy service I am ready now,
Wherever pleaseth Thee;
Where the battle rages I will go,
And this my glory be;
Victory, victory
I ride with Thee today. [Refrain]

3 Though a mighty foe defiance hurls,
Our King hath greater might;
If we follow Him with courage bold,
We cannot lose the fight;
Leading on an overcoming host,
All clad in armor bright;
Victory, victory
Our King rides forth today. [Refrain]
