Representative Text

1 Hear the trumpet calling, calling, calling,
Saying to us, O my brothers,
“Christ has need of you.”
Round the Lord’s white standard rally, comrades,
Join we the warfare with others,
Fearless, bold and true.

Refrain:
To the battle! Gird ye for the fight!
Forward! soldiers for the right;
No retreating in the war with win,
God and His cause must win!
This our war cry— Forward for the King!
Onward! where the trumpets ring!
Led by Jesus, conqu’rors we will be—
God’s be the victory!

2 For the Christian warfare soldiers wanted,
Under the banner of Jesus
Bound to win the fight.
Let this be our answer, “Coming, coming!
Strong with a courage undaunted
For our God and right.” [Refrain]

3 Forward Christian soldiers, daring, doing
All things for Him who is leading
On His hosts today.
Where His flag is waving follow, follow,
Danger forever unheeding,
Fight and trust and pray! [Refrain]
