"Have faith in God," the Master said;--
Lord give me faith that I may rest,
In calm content, my weary head
Upon His breast.
A faith like Thine, strong, brave, and sure,
Not weak, nor easily dismayed;
That through all trials shall endure,
Aye unafraid.
Then shall I cleave through clouds of doubt,
And pass from darkness into day;
Put all the muttering hosts to rout,
That crowd my way.
And I shall make my heart's request,--
Even mountains shall not bar my way;
O God, Thou'lt give whate'er is best,
Nor long delay.
