Harvest time is ready, see, the fields are white

Representative Text

1 Harvest-time is ready—see, the fields are white,
And the call for reapers cometh thro’ the night;
Countless souls are dying—who will haste the word?
Who will take the message where ‘twas never heard?

Refrain:
Reapers are needed for the harvest today,
Jesus is calling, haste His word to obey;
Souls around you perish in the darkness and the night;
Will you heed the call today?
O hasten!
Reapers are needed, there’s no time for delay,
Jesus is calling! go to work while you may;
Souls around you perish in the darkness and night—
Hasten to the work today.

2 What will be your answer when the King doth come
If you have to meet Him with your work undone?
Go with scythe and sickle, pray unceasingly
For the dying thousands over land and sea. [Refrain]

3 Thou shalt come rejoicing when the sun goes down,
And exchange thy labors for a victor’s crown.
Oh, the joy of bringing golden sheaves of grain,
And the Savior’s welcome on that day to gain! [Refrain]
