1 Happy on a highway to a better land,
We are moving onward at the Lord’s command,
Spurning ev’ry offer of the evil hand,
Happy on the way to glory land.
Refrain:
Happy on the way to glory land,
Singing as we go to that fair strand;
Leaving ev’ry sorrow in this vale below,
Happy on the way to glory land.
2 We should never falter nor a moment stand,
Following the Leader of our mighty band;
He will guide us safely o’er the desert sand,
Happy on the way to glory land. [Refrain]
3 Going to that home the Savior for us planned,
Hoping soon to join the heav’nly chorus grand;
Evermore to sing on that eternal strand,
Happy on the way to glory land. [Refrain]
