1 Go thy way, for this time, go thy way;
The convenient time may come by and by,
But I'll not heed the call of Christ today,
Nor listen to His tender cry.

Chorus:
Go thy way, go thy way;
The convenient time is future yet with me;
When the morning hours of life have passed away,
And the noonday comes, I'll call for thee.

2 Go thy way, for this time, go thy way;
'Tis the noon of joyous life now to me;
Let me not be hindered now, I pray,
When ready I will call for thee.

Chorus:
Go thy way, go thy way;
The convenient time is future yet with me;
When the noonday of my life has passed away,
In the evening time I'll call for thee.

3 Go thy way, for this time, go thy way;
For the world has thrown its shackles over me,
But when death comes knocking at my heart,
I'll listen, I will call for thee.

Chorus:
Go thy way, go thy way;
The convenient time is future yet with me;
When the evening of my life has passed away,
In the night of death I'll call for thee.
