Representative Text

1 Forward! Forward! Banners on high,
‘Tis the Christian Army,
Forward! Forward! This is their cry,
“All the world for Jesus,”
On, on, on, ever pressing on,
Day by day the ranks are swelling
More and more till the world is won,
Till all shall speak his name.

Refrain:
March, we march, we march to battle singing,
March, we march, the Lord a mighty host is bringing.
Hail the King, the Saviour all victorious,
Hail the King! He leads to victory.

2 Forward! Forward! Forward they go,
Into ev’ry nation;
Forward! Forward, till all shall know,
Christ and his salvation,
Sounds of triumph are ev’rywhere,
Church of God is moving onward,
Nations shall the glad name declare,
To Christ all men shall bow. [Refrain]

3 Forward! ‘Tis the conqueror’s song,
Vict’ry they are singing;
Forward! Right shall conquer the wrong,
Tribute they are bringing,
Up, ye men! Join the cause of right,
Jesus leads us on to conquest,
Falter not, for his word is might,
Your triumph will be sure. [Refrain]
