Representative Text

1 Forward, Christian soldier!
Forward go with song!
Onward to battle
Hoping, rejoicing;
Right shall defeat the wrong.
Jesus will be thy guide
Against the pow’r of sin;
The hosts of heav’n are on thy side,
The vict’ry thou shalt win!

Refrain:
Forward, Christian soldier, in the cause of Right,
Trusting ever, trusting in the Saviour’s might.
On the courage ever,
To the foe surrender never,
Onward till the world is won for Christ the Lord.

2 Forward, Christian soldier!
Mighty is the foe,
Trust in thy Leader,
He’ll fail thee never,
Courage He will bestow,
Fierce though the strife and long,
O never, never yield,
Until the victor’s joyous song,
Rings o’er the battle field! [Refrain]

3 Forward, Christian soldier!
Sin shall be o’erthrown,
Bravely advancing,
Look to the Saviour,
Trust in His strength alone.
Ever obey His word,
O firm and loyal be,
The hosts who battle for the Lord
Shall gain the victory! [Refrain]
