1 Fader vor udi Himmerig,
Som bød os leve broderlig,
Og dig med Flid at bede til,
Vor Bøn du gjerne høre vil;
Giv, at ei beder blot vor Mund,
Hjælp, at det gaar af Hjertens Grund!

2 Helliget vorde, Gud, dit Navn,
Dit Ord lad komme os til Gavn,
At vi maa leve christelig,
Dit Navn til Pris evindelig;
Mod Lærdom falsk til Hjælp os kom
Og dit forførte Folk vend om!

3 Til komme nu dit Rige hid,
Og hisset indtil evig Tid;
Din Helligaand lad hos os bo
Med sine Gaver, TrOst og Ro;
Slaa ned al Djævlens List og Vold,
Din Kirke mod hans Magt ophold!

4 Din Villie ske paa Jorderig,
alt som den sker i Himmerig;
Giv os en god Taalmodighed,
Naar vi skal lide Sorg og Nød,
Fordriv alt kjødeligt Begjær,
Som altid mod din Vilje er!

5 Giv os i Dag vort dagligt Brød,
Hjælp os ned al Nødtørstighed;
Fri os, o Gud, fra Tvist og Strid,
fra Sygdom og den dyre Tid;
Lad Fredens gode Aar bestaa,
Og Sorg og Gjerrighed forgaa!

6 Og al vor Skyld forlad os her,
At den os ei bedrøver mer,
Som vore Skyldnere vi vil
Af Hjertet gjerne give til;
Gjør os at tjene Hver bered
I Kjærlighed og Enighed!

7 Naar vi og fristes, lad os staa,
At Satan os ei fange maa,
Til hvilken Kant han komme kan,
Hjælp os, at vi faa Overhaand
Med en fast Tro imod hans Lift,
Dertil hjælp os, o Herre Christ1

8 Fra Ondt bevar os sammelund,
Thi ond er denne Tid og Stund;
Fri os og fra den evig' Død,
Og trøst os i vor sidste Nød;
Gjør Enden god, annam vor Aand,
O kjære Fader, i din Haand!

9 Amen, dit Ord er vist og sandt,
Der har vor Tro saa fast et Pant,
At aldrig vi maa tvivle paa,
At hvad vi bede, skal vi faa;
Thi synge vi i Navnet dit
Og paa dit Ord nu Amen frit.

In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries. Go to person page >
