1 Do not be ashamed to own Him,
Or obey your Lord’s command;
In your every word and action
Show the world just where you stand.
Refrain:
Show the world just where you stand,
Gladly follow His command;
Your all resign to Christ divine,
Show the world just where you stand.
2 When temptations throng around you,
Closer hold His nail pierced hand;
You have joined His blessèd service,
Show the world just where you stand. [Refrain]
3 Do not be ashamed to own Him,
Tell it out thro’ all the land;
Loyal ever to the Master,
Show the world just where you stand. [Refrain]
Lizzie De Armond was a prolific writer of children's hymns, recitations and exercises. When she was twelve years old her first poem was published in the Germantown, Pa. Telegraph, however, it was not until she was a widow with eight children to support that she started writing in earnest. She wrote articles, librettos, nature stories and other works, as well as hymns.
