Representative Text

1 Come, ye soldiers, young and sturdy,
Staunch and true, with courage bold,
Follow where ye see that banner,
In the light of Heav’n unfold.

Refrain:
Follow yonder snow-white banner,
“Temp’rance, temp’rance,” is our cry,
Let that word, in glad defiance
Echo o’er the earth and sky.
Follow yonder snow-white banner,
Let the song triumphant ring,
Conquer this, the blackest evil,
In the name of Christ, our King.

2 Come, ye soldiers, heads uplifted,
Swords unsheathed and armor bright,
Fight and win, with shouts of glory,
God will give us strength and might. [Refrain]

3 Come, ye soldiers, join together,
Call your comrades to the fray,
Where that evil lurks and threatens,
Strike it down, and win the day. [Refrain]
