Representative Text

1 Come over and help us, O soldiers of light!
Come into the regions of sorrow and night;
The voices of millions imploringly cry—
Come over and help us—Oh help, or we die.

Chorus:
Year ye the pleading of perishing men,
Living in horror exceeding our ken;
List, as they call us again and again,
“Come over and help us!”

2 Come over and help us, O host of the blest!
Come into the land where the weak are oppressed;
The races in bondage cry out to be freed;
Come over and help us—Oh help while we plead. [Chorus]

3 Come over and help us, O warriors of God!
Come, blessing the realms that the Spoiler has trod,
Where sin like a pestilence breathes over all;
Come over and help us—Oh come while we call. [Chorus]
