Representative Text

1 Clouds may hover over me and hide my view,
Sin may seek in me its evil work to do;
Even try to conquer me, but never will,
While I trust my Saviour still.

Refrain:
For nothing really matters if the Lord loves me,
And he does, O yes! He does!
No! Nothing really matters if the Lord loves me,
And he does, he does.

2 There is naught that stands between my Lord and me
For my sins are hidden now in Love’s great sea;
While the billows cover them from mortal eyes,
Heaven-ward my song shall rise. [Refrain]

3 Such a love as Jesus gives shall conquer fear,
Such a hope as he bestows shall dry each tear;
Wonderful it is that such a thing should be,
But the King of heav’n loves me. [Refrain]

4 Tho’ I try to love him as I really ought,
All my love before his cross must seem as naught;
Thro’ the tears I’m always praying o’er and o’er,
“Teach me, Lord, to love thee more.” [Refrain]
