Representative Text

1 Christian, bear the gladsome tidings,
Ye who know the love of God;
Sound His praises, make it glorious,
Spread the joyful news abroad.

Chorus:
Bear, O bear the gladsome tidings
O’er the land from sea to sea;
Tell how Christ, our blessed Savior,
Died to set poor sinners free.

2 Go and bear the gladsome tidings
to the lost by sin oppressed;
Tell them of the love of Jesus,
Bid them come to Him for rest. [Chorus]

3 Linger not, the Spirit bids thee—
Go and work some soul to win;
Be thou faithful to the Master—
Win a vict’ry over sin. [Chorus]
