Representative Text

1 Break, rosy light, in yonder sky,
Shine thro’ the clouds of gray,
Set forth a sign of joy on high,
To welcome His natal day.

Refrain:
The birthday of the Saviour,
The birthday of the Lord,
Of the Child by shepherds worshipped,
And by angel hosts adored;
The birthday of Messiah,
The birthday of the King,
Give Him welcome, all ye nations,
Oh, rejoice and sing.

2 Sing, morning stars, together sing,
Praise to this wondrous morn,
Welcome the Child, the promised King,
In Bethlehem’s manger born. [Refrain]

3 Join, mortal men, with angels bright,
Telling the Christ-child’s birth,
All in one song of praise unite,
Sing “peace and goodwill on earth.” [Refrain]
