Bleeding hearts defiled by sin

Bleeding hearts defiled by sin

Author: Thomas Hastings
Published in 43 hymnals

Representative Text

1 Bleeding hearts defiled by sin,
Jesus Christ can make, can make you clean;
Contrite souls with guilt oppressed,
Jesus Christ can give, can give you rest.

Refrain:
Sweet Redeemer from above,
Born on wings, on wings of love.

2 You that mourn your follies past,
Precious hours and years, and years laid waste,
Turn to God, O turn and live,
Jesus Christ can still, can still forgive. [Refrain]

3 Fainting souls in peril's hour,
Yield not to, not to the Tempter's pow'r,
On the risen Lord rely,
Jesus Christ now reigns, now reigns on high. [Refrain]
