Representative Text

1 Alone with Jesus! O how sweet
To lay me prostrate at His feet;
To feel His hallowed presence near,
My life to bless, my heart to cheer!

Refrain:
Alone with Jesus! O how sweet
To be for such a blessing meet;
To know His love, to feel His care,
And all His richest blessings share!

2 Alone with Jesus! peaceful rest,
Reclining on His loving breast;
What joy to hear Him sweetly say:—
Lean hard on Me, and ever stay! [Refrain]

3 Alone with Jesus! evermore,
My Lord, I’ll love Thee and adore,
‘Till Thou dost kindly bid me come
To dwell in Thy eternal Home. [Refrain]

4 Alone with Jesus! none can tell
What joy ‘twill be with Him to dwell,
To chant His love, to sin His praise,
And unto Him our anthems raise. [Refrain]
