Ach Gott und Herr, wie groß und schwer

Representative Text

1 Ach Gott und Herr,
wie groß und schwer
sind mein begangne Sünden!
Da ist niemand,
der helfen kann,
auf dieser Welt zu finden.

2 Lief ich gleich weit
zu dieser Zeit
bis an der Erde Enden,
wollt ledig sein
des Kreuzes mein,
würd ich doch nicht wenden.

3 Zu dir flieh ich;
verstoß mich nicht,
wie ich's wohl hab verdienet.
Ach Gott, zürn nicht,
geh nicht ins G'richt,
dein Sohn hat mich versühnet.

4 Gib, Herr, Geduld,
vergiß der Schuld,
schaff ein gehorsam Herze,
daß ich nur nicht,
wie's wohl geschicht,
murrend mein Heil verscherzen.

5 Handle mit mir, wie's dünket dir,
durch dein Gnad will ich's leiden;
nur wollst du mich nicht ewiglich,
mein Gott, dort von dir scheiden.
