Representative Text

1 A thought now fills my heart with gladness,
I'm thinking of the happy day
When Jesus took away my sadness;
I'm singing on the homeward way.

Chorus:
I'm singing o'er and o'er the story,
I'm singing of His love each day;
I'm singing of His grace and glory,
I'm singing on the homeward way.

2 Tho' many trials overtake me,
And foes would fill me with dismay,
I look to Him who won't forsake me:
I'm singing on the homeward way. [Chorus]

3 To Jesus I shall e'er be loyal,
And say what He would have me say;
I'll proudly wave His banner royal--
I'm singing on the homeward way. [Chorus]

4 My soul's best love to Him is given,
And till the dawning of that day,
When I shall see His face in heaven,
I'm singing on the homeward way. [Chorus]
