From the late 20th century hymn writer, Fred Pratt Green, here is one of his most significant contributions to modern day hymnody. In this robust choral setting by Joseph Martin, the grand majesty and scope of worshiping God through music is revealed. Colorful word painting by use of carefully placed chromatics sets the tone for the fourth stanza depicting Jesus singing a psalm on the night of his betrayal. An array of "alleluias" completes this marvelous anthem with every instrument and voice raised in song.
