John Carter’s setting of Fanny Crosby and William Doane’s historic hymn features a four-hand piano accompaniment providing a new musical dimension reminiscent of the piano/organ accompaniments that were often effected for congregational hymn singing in Baptist worship in the mid-years of the twentieth century.
