This hauntingly beautiful setting celebrates new life and hope arising from barren hills and tired hearts. A quiet opening grows to a full, expressive climax when "hope renewed cries out, 'Amen"." It is based on the folk tune Prospect with fragments of Wondrous Love and The First Nowell.

a cappella choir with two oboes (or other treble instruments)
choir, keyboard, and two oboes
