The piece begins quietly over a bass ostinato pedalpoint (the only reason for its SATBB designation) and builds to the entrance of the hymntune OLD 113th. Written to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the organ at First Presbyterian Church in Texarkana, Arkansas, this setting has a prominent and florid organ part. The hymn tune sections of the piece are straight SATB with a fair amount of unison singing.
