James Hearknett Wallis, b. 13 Apr. 1861, London; d. 23 Aug. 1940, Salt Lake City, a writer, an attorney, a public health advocate, a musician, and a missionary.

Wikipedia Biography

James H. Wallis (1861–1940) was a Latter-day Saint hymnwriter, editor and Patriarch. He was the author of the hymn "Come, Ye Children of The Lord". Wallis was born in April, 1861 in London, England. His parents were James Wallis and Jane Sarah Booth. Wallis joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in 1877 and immigrated to the United States in 1881, settling in Utah Territory. Wallis wrote several poems, many of which were published in 1883.
