Death Year: 1813

German composer, born in Metzels, near Meiningen, Jan 25, 1750; died in Schmalkalden, Nov 22, 1813. From 1773 to his death he was organist and resident composer for the Stadtkirche in Schmalkalden. For his position, he composed approximately 160 cantatas, plus organ pieces, and hymn settings.
