Loring, Louisa Putnam. (1854-1924) of Boston and Pride's Crossing, Massachusetts, compiled Hymns of the Ages, published in 1904. Her literary and musical standards were high, and the book handsomely printed, but its appear was limited and it had to compete with several other excellent hymnbooks then on the market for use among Unitarians. It included her own morning hymn beginning "O Thou who turnest into morning" (1902), also included in The New Hymn and Tune Book, 1914.
