Son of the Dean of Rochester, Dale was a Scholar of The Queen’s College, Oxford (BA & MusB 1866). Ordained a deacon in 1870, and priest in 1871, he was assistant master at Westminster School (1870-86); Rector of Bletchingdon (1885-99) and Hampton Poyle (1892-97), and Perpetual Curate of Binsey (1905-10). His works include:
