Thomas Blackburne

This poem [Awake thou wintry earth] was first printed in the second edition of Fosbery’s “Poems for the Sick and Suffering” (Rivington, 1850). Mr. [Thomas] Blackburne was educated at Queen’s College, Oxford, and after some time spent in literary work on the Athenæum, he took orders. Two of his letters are printed in Hartley Coleridge’s Memoirs.
