Edward Lawrence Bevir was born in 1847. He lived in both It­a­ly and France. He was a member of the Plymouth Brethren church. For many years he was the ed­it­or of the mag­a­zine Helps for the Poor of the Flock. He died on October 29, 1922 in Val­ence-sur-Rhône, France.
