Barrows, Samuel June. (New York, NY, May 26, 1845--April 21, 1909, New York). He graduated from the Harvard Divinity School in 1875 and in 1876 was ordained minister of Mount Pleasant Church, Dorchester, Massachusetts, where he served until 1881. He was editor of the Christian Register from 1881 to 1897, and was a member of Congress, 1897-1899. A hymn beginning "Enkindling Love, eternal Flame" is attributed to hymn in the Isles of Shoals Hymn Book, 1908.
