Text: | A Song to the Lamb (Dignus es): Canticle 18 |
Tune: | [Splendor and honor and kingly power] |
Composer: | Richard Fabian (b. 1942) |
1 Splendor and honor and kingly [royal] power
are yours by right, O Lord our God. [God Most High]
2 For you created everything that is,
and by your will they were created and have their being;
3 And yours by right, O Lamb that was slain,
for with your blood you have redeemed for God,
4 From every family, language, people, and nation,
a kingdom of priests [royal priesthood] to serve our God.
5 And so, to him [the One] who sits upon the throne,
and to Christ the Lamb,
6 Be worship and praise, dominion and splendor,
for ever and for evermore.
