1 A VOICE in every gale,
A tongue in every flower,
Sets forth the wondrous tale
Of thy almighty power.
The birds that sing Proclaim thy praise;
With voiceful Spring Their anthem raise.
2 Shall I be mute alone,
'Midst Nature's loud acclaim?
My heart with answering tone
Breathes forth thy holy name.
Nature and time Shall cease to be;
But God's own breath Still breathes in me.
