811. To Render Thanks unto Our God

1 To render thanks unto our God
it is a comely thing;
and to your name, O God most high,
due praise aloud to sing.

2 Your loving-kindness to show forth
when shines the morning light;
and to declare your faithfulness
with pleasure every night,

3 upon a ten-stringed instrument,
upon the psaltery,
and on the harp with solemn sound,
and grave sweet melody.

4 For you, God, by your mighty works
have made my heart so glad;
and I will triumph in the works
which by your hands were made.

5 Those that within the house of God
are planted by your grace,
they shall grow up, and flourish all
within your holy place.
