118. The Doorway of Prayer.

1 I want to come into Thy kingdom,
I'm longing it's pleasures to share;
I know there awaits me a welcome,
So I'll start thro' the doorway of pray'r.

Chorus:
It is standing ajar,
And the gleam of a star
Shines thro' it and beckons me there;
Lord, trusting Thy grace
I shall look on Thy face,
When I enter the doorway of pray'r.

2 I want to bear witness for Jesus;
His banner of love I would bear;
I know He will use me for service,
So I'll enter the doorway of pray'r. [Chorus]

3 I want to be strong when temptations
Creep into my breast unaware;
I know I shall win a glad vict'ry
If I seek thro' the doorway of pray'r. [Chorus]

4 I want to have wisdom and courage;
I'm willing to do and to dare;
Thy presence shall be my protection
If I enter the doorway of pray'r. [Chorus]
