270. His Will

1 The Saviour calls thee to His side,
To follow all the way,
And bids thee whatsoe’er betide,
His blessed will obey.

Refrain:
Oh, weary one, come, hear His voice,
For lo! He speaks to thee,
And bids thee make His will thy choice,
If thou wouldst happy be.

2 He has a plan for ev’ry life,
A path for each to take;
Then let Him lead thro’ calm or strife,
And thee He’ll ne’er forsake. [Refrain]

3 He only asks a willing heart,
Submissive to His own,
Surrendered wholly, not in part,
And ruled by Him alone. [Refrain]

4 Then linger not behind thy Guide,
Nor hurry on before,
But step by step, and at His side,
Go forward evermore. [Refrain]
