80. Come to the Front

1 Come to the front! the dear Savior is calling,
Calling for soldiers persistent and brave;
Souls, precious souls, every moment are falling,
Will you not help him his loved ones to save?

Refrain:
Come to the front, come to the front!
Jesus is calling strong hearts to the fray.
Come to the front, come to the front!
Be a true soldier of Jesus today.

2 Many young souls in deep darkness are lying,
Kept from the light by the power of sin;
Daily for help they are pleading and sighing;
Will you not help them their freedom to win? [Refrain]

3 Others, thro’ weakness and trouble and sorrow,
Have not the courage to flee from the foe;
Friendless, unloved, with no hope for the morrow,
Downward, despairing, unhindered they go. [Refrain]

4 Come to the front! heed the call of the Mater;
Will you not help him his loved ones to save?
Must they go downward to certain disaster?
Must they, in bondage, do down to the grave? [Refrain]
