Text: | In His Name |
Author: | Edith Sanford Tillotson |
Tune: | [There’s a motto for the children of the King] |
Composer: | E. S. Lorenz |
1 There’s a motto for the children of the King,
By its words, the world they claim,
It is deep in every loyal Christian heart,
And the words are “In His Name.”
Refrain:
“In His Name” we will conquer every foe!
“In His Name” we will win where’er we go!
“In His Name” we defeat shall never know!
We must conquer “In His Name!”
2 It is written on the banners of the Lord,
And to all the words proclaim,
That more powerful than any earthly word
Is our motto, “In His Name.” [Refrain]
3 Then we’ll raise on high the standard of the Cross,
Through all ages still the same;
And we know that we shall never suffer loss,
For we’ll conquer, “In His Name.” [Refrain]
