64. Loyalty to Christ

1 By thy saving cross we stand,
Heart to heart, and hand to hand,
Savior and Friend;
By thy loving pow’r set free,
We would give ourselves to thee,
And thy faithful servants be
On to the end.
Heart to heart, and hand to hand,
By this saving cross we stand,
Bound to thee, a loyal band,
On to the end.

2 Thou didst die that we might live,
Thou dost all our sins forgive,
Thee we adore;
Help us still thro’ life to prove,
All the pow’r of thy great love,
In thy steps to fearless move,
Thine evermore.
Heart to heart, and hand to hand,
By this saving cross we stand,
Bound to thee, a loyal band,
Thine evermore.

3 Risen Savior, yet so near,
Friend above all others dear,
Light, Life and Guide;
Now thy glad inspiring voice,
Bids us in thy truth rejoice,
Serving thee, our blessed choice,
With us abide.
Heart to heart, and hand to hand,
By this saving cross we stand,
Bound to thee, a loyal band,
With us abide.

4 So around thy saving cross,
Counting all things else but loss,
Thy name we sing;
Ever may a watchful band,
Guard and hold, with steadfast hand,
This our trust, till ev’ry land,
Owns thee its King.
Heart to heart, and hand to hand,
By this saving cross we stand,
Bound to thee, a loyal band,
Jesus, our King.
