148. We Praise Thee, O God

1 We praise thee, O God, for the Son thou hast given,
We praise thee, O God, for the word which he gave;
We praise thee, O God, for the glad hope of heaven,
Thro’ Jesus who died and arose from the grave.

Refrain:
Hallelujah! we sing unto Jesus our King;
Who came down from heaven salvation to bring;
Hallelujah! we sing,
For the Savior, our King,
Over death rose triumphant, he liveth again.

2 We praise thee, O God, for the kind interceding,
Of Jesus our Lord, at the throne of thy love;
We praise thee, O God, for our souls thou art feeding,
With manna of grace from thy kingdom above. [Refrain]

3 We praise thee, O God, for the dear Holy Spirit,
We praise thee, O God, for the life-giving pow’r;
We praise thee, O God, that our souls may inherit
The Kingdom above and the life evermore. [Refrain]
