1 When proud Amalek’s host assailed,
Moses prayed, and his prayer prevailed;
Then the men of Israel gave a shout
And the foe was out to rout.

2 On the summit of Carmel’s sod
Knelt Elijah in prayer to God;
Then the heav’ns replied with floods of rain,
Deluging the thirsty plain. [Refrain]

3 When His people with one accord,
In the name of their risen Lord,
Called upon the King to prove His pow’r,
They were heard that very hour. [Refrain]

4 Now your all on the altar lay,
Trust your case in His hand today,
Open up your heart, to God draw nigh,
He will ev’ry need supply. [Refrain]
