47. Amen to Jesus

1 My yielded heart says “yes” to Jesus,
“Amen” to all of His sweet will;
This vain, vain world no longer pleases,
But Christ doth all my vision fill.

Refrain:
I love thee, I love thee,
My life, my light, my star, my sun;
With joy I haste to follow Thee,
Forevermore “Thy will be done.”

2 The struggle past, the battle over,
Not mine, but Thine alone to be;
A love-slave to remain forever,
A captive, yet than bird more free. [Refrain]

3 “Amen,” whatever my condition,
For sorrow’s path Thyself hast trod;
And well I know these light afflictions
Are stepping-stones which lead to God. [Refrain]

4 “Amen,” dear Lord, “Amen” forever,
My all abandoned unto Thee;
Thy grace I know will fail me never;
I’ll be what Thou wouldst have me be. [Refrain]
