131. Mine the Cross

1 Mine the cross and thine the glory,
Only this my boast shall be;
From the law Thou hast delivered,
And thy grace hath made me free.

Refrain:
Mine the cross and thine the glory,
Blessed cross to which I cling;
In its shadow I am resting,
Cross of Christ, my Lord and King.

2 Mine to brave the world’s temptations,
Mine the robe of scorn to wear;
Yet I count it joy and gladness
For thy sake to do or dare. [Refrain]

3 Trusting on, O loving Savior,
Leaving all I follow thee;
To the end if I am faithful,
There’s a crown laid up for me. [Refrain]
