1 O wanderer, rejoice, rejoice!
Lift up your head and sing!
Good tidings of great joy and peace,
From Christ the Lord we bring.

Refrain:
O wanderer, rejoice,
No longer fear or doubt,
The soul that comes to Christ in love,
He never will cast out.

2 O love supreme! O mercy vast!
O matchless, boundless grace!
The great Creator gave His Son
To save a ruined race. [Refrain]

3 When we were hopeless, lost, undone,
For us He lived and died:
For us they nailed Him to the cross,
And pierced His blessed side. [Refrain]

4 In triumph from the grave He rose;
And now He intercedes
At God’s right hand, for you and me!
For our transgressions pleads. [Refrain]

5 Then break, O heart, and let Him in!
He stands outside the door,
O hear His gentle, pleading voice!
