164. The Half Has Never Been Told

1 We’ve often heard how Jesus came upon this earth to die,
That we might be redeemed from sin and meet Him in the sky;
His persecutions then were great, by Judas He was sold,
He died for us! O precious love!
Yes the half has never been told.

Refrain:
Yes the half has never been told,
Yes the half has never been told;
The grace of God so full and free,
The Holy Spirit filleth me,
Yet the half has never been told.

2 He healed the sick, the blind, the lame, and fed the multitude,
He preached the gospel to the poor, was ever doing good;
He gave this world the Gospel Truth, more precious far than gold,
He said, “Go tell it to the lost,”
Yes the half has never been told. [Refrain]

3 His pow’r is just the same today to calm the troubled sea,
Or give to us our heart’s desires, whatever they may be;
His Spirit comes into our hearts, Great Shepherd of the fold,
He gives His pow’r unto the saints,
Yes the half has never been told. [Refrain]

4 He soon will come to earth again to catch away His bride,
The marriage supper then we’ll have, and with Him e’er abide;
And reign with Him as kings and priests upon His throne of gold,
Earth’s kingdom then will pass away,
Yes the half has never been told. [Refrain]

5 O Jesus said “go fee my lambs,” who will His voice obey?
And lead them to the pastures green; O heed the call today.
For “Inasmuch,” our Lord will say, then lead them to the fold,
A crown of life at last He’ll give,
Yes the half has never been told. [Refrain]
