1 Fear not, O little flock
Upon the storm-swept hill;
The Shepherd knows thy path,
He guides thy footsteps still.
His nail-pierced hand will keep
And hold thee safe and fast;
Fear not, O little flock,
He’ll bring thee home at last.

2 Fear not, O little flock,
Through rivers dark and deep
The Shepherd gently leads
His weary, trembling sheep.
O love that goes before
And meets the stinging blast!

Though fierce the flames may be;
The fire shall hurt thee not—
The Shepherd walks with thee.
O blessed fellowship,
When in the furnace cast,

A heavenly fold is thine;
Above the shadows here
Its promised glories shine.
